Wednesday Lotto

,

Wednesday Tatts Lotto

Wednesday Lotto numbers are drawn from a machine containing 45 balls, numbered from 1 to 45 inclusive. For a standard game, you choose 6 numbers from this range.

In total, 8 balls are drawn of which the first 6 are the winning numbers. The last 2 balls are the supplementary numbers. These supplementary balls are used to determine prizes in Divisions 2, 5 & 6.

The chance of winning a Division One prize in Wednesday Lotto is 1 in 8,145,060

Every Monday from 21 October 2013, Monday Lotto will now guarantee a $1 million Division 1 prize pool for up to four winners (previously two).

You'll also notice a slight price increase of 5c per game.

Wednesday Lotto is drawn weekly at 8:30pm (AEST) on Wednesday nights. Results and dividends are generally available on this site by 9:30pm (AEST).

Wednesday Lotto

Wednesday Lotto found its humble beginnings back in 1979 and there have been very changes to the structure over the years apart from the addition of a second supplementary number in August 1990 and a slight change to the matrix in 2004. Originally a 6/44 configuration it was changed to 6/45 – the change coming to keep the game in line with the increasingly popular Saturday night Lotto.

Between April 2004 and May 2006 Wednesday’s jackpot didn’t roll over if not claimed, the prizemoney increasing in the lower divisions instead. Once the rollover feature returned so did larger first division prizes, increasing its popularity tenfold.

Like Monday and Saturday night Lotto, Wednesday night’s game uses a 6/45 matrix with players selecting 6 numbers from 45 and after the main six numbers are drawn, 2 supplementary numbers are drawn, increasing the number prize winning divisions to 5.

The biggest win for a single ticket in this division was on January 21st 2009 when a player from NSW scored $6 Million.

Relying on luck to win the lottery is not enough!

Australian Lotto Statistics
Australian Lottery numbers are randomly drawn. But randomly drawn numbers form patterns that can be tracked and used to our advantage.

Having carefully analyzed all the drawings in past lotto results of more than 180 different Lotto games worldwide, with histories going back as far as 1955, Gail Howard has verified the following incredibly simple rule:

That which is MOST POSSIBLE happens MOST OFTEN.
That which is LEAST POSSIBLE happens LEAST OFTEN.

The key to our statistics is successful lotto number selection methods is playing the probabilities. If you play a pattern that occurs only five percent of the time, you can expect that pattern to lose 95 percent of the time, giving you no chance to win 95 percent of the time. So, don't buck the probabilities.

ODD-EVEN LOTTO NUMBER TIPS

When you select your Australia LOTTO numbers, try to have a relatively even mix of odd and even numbers. All odd numbers or all even numbers are rarely drawn, occurring only one percent of the time. The best mix is to have 2/4, 4/2 or 3/3, which means two odd and four even, or four odd and two even, or three odd and three even. One of these three patterns will occur in 82 percent of the drawings.

HIGH-LOW LOTTO NUMBER TIPS

Winning numbers are usually spread across the entire number field. If we take a number field and cut it in half, we have the low half and the high half. In a 42-number game like Australian Loto, numbers 1 to 21 would be in the low half, and numbers 22 to 42 would be in the high half. All high numbers or all low numbers are rarely drawn, occurring only 1 percent of the time. The best mix is to have 2/4, 4/2 or 3/3, which means two high and four low, or four high and two low, or three high and three low. Winning number groups with these three patterns occur in 82 percent of all drawings.

LOTTERY GAMES SKIPPED STRATEGIES

List the number of games skipped (games out) since the last hit (win) for each of the winning numbers during the last five games. Then mark the number of times each skip occurred. If any skip from 0 to 5 did not occur, play the Lotto numbers that are out that many games. (Help working with lotto games skipped.)

PLAY A BALANCED GAME - LOTTO NUMBER SUM ADVICE

After you choose six lotto numbers you want to play, add them together and make sure that the sum of the six numbers adds up to somewhere between 100 and 158. Sums that fall within that range will account for over seventy percent of all lottery jackpots won.

LOTTERY NUMBER GROUP STRATEGIES

Look at a list of past winning numbers for Australia LOTTO or any game you play, and you'll see, more often than not, that one or more of the number groups is not represented. For example, in the combination 5-14-17-32-38-42, there are no 20's. Tracking and studying Number Groups can help you decide which group to omit and which group to give extra heavy play.

REPEAT HITS LOTTERY TIPS

In Australia LOTTO 6/42, on average, one lottery number will be a repeat hit from the last drawing 63 percent of the time.

HOT NUMBER LOTTERY SECRETS

Numbers that have been out (losers) for five lotto drawings or less account for about half of the winning numbers drawn. Losing numbers that have been out ten games or less account for 82 percent of all the winning numbers. This tells us that hot numbers are more likely to hit, but don't forget to include at least one long shot in your group of 6.

COLD NUMBER LOTTERY SECRETS

It is difficult to know when a cold number will end a long losing streak. If you play a number every drawing because you think it is due, you could be chasing it for many months. (Number 45 in New York Lotto sat out 100 drawings before it finally hit.) Although, when a number has been out for 70 games or so, it might be worth chasing. Lottery Pools and Lottery Syndicates

POOL YOUR WAY TO LOTTO RICHES

Several of the 107 Lotto jackpots won with our statistics' lottery systems were won by groups of people who pooled their money. Sharing the ticket cost with others stretches your lotto budget. By playing with a group, you can afford to buy more lottery tickets and play larger wheeling systems than you could (or should) by yourself. Draw up an agreement and have the members of your pool sign it. How to Get Lucky in Lotto

CASH IN ON A POSITIVE ATTITUDE

No one should play games of chance out of desperation because they need the winnings. The needy have a greater fear of losing the hard-earned money they gamble with. It is just one of life's dirty tricks that the very fear of losing blocks the winning forces. Thoughts are charged with energy, especially when triggered by emotion. Fear attracts exactly that which one fears. A strong desire for a goal that is charged with positive energy, attracts a positive response, especially when every effort is made to attain that goal.

AVOID NUMBER COMBINATIONS THAT HAVE BEEN DRAWN BEFORE

Many players like to bet the numbers that have won someone else a big jackpot, and by doing so, they are almost guaranteed NOT to win one themselves. In Australia LOTTO 642, with two drawings a week, a set of 6 numbers has a chance of being drawn once every 50,440 years!!! This should also answer the question Gail Howard is so often asked, "Shouldn't I keep playing the same set of numbers every week because they are due to hit sometime?"

AVOID THE LOTTO COMBINATION 1-2-3-4-5-6

The most popular set of numbers most often played is: 1-2-3-4-5-6. Thousands of tickets are bought with this combination every drawing. The selection is too far out of balance to come up in a random drawing.

AVOID BETTING SIX CONSECUTIVE LOTTO NUMBERS

Six consecutive numbers have never been drawn in any state or international Lotto game. I have all the drawing results for more than 180 state and international Lotto games, going back more than fifty years! Even five consecutive numbers is a very rare occurrence that, in most Lotto games, has never happened once.

AVOID BETTING ONE LOTTO NUMBER GROUP

Never choose all six numbers from one number group, such as all single digits, or all teens, or all 20's, etc. All six winning lotto numbers drawn from one group is highly unlikely.

AVOID PATTERN BETTING

Pattern betting is an even more popular method of marking bet slips. Patterns of numbers marked in a row to make a straight line, either across the bet slip vertically or diagonally get heavy play which means sharing the prize with others if the numbers are drawn as winners. Other designs such as patterns of initials or numbers or crosses also get heavy play.

AVOID NUMBER MULTIPLES

Other popular combinations that get heavy play are the number multiples, especially 5-10-15-20-25-30 and 7-14-21-28-35-42.

AVOID ALL SAME LAST DIGITS

Many people like to play same last digits, such as 3-13-23-33-43, or all digits that end in seven, or some other favorite lucky lottery number. Even four same last digits occur in less than two-tenths of one percent of all drawings. Winning sets of numbers with three last digits the same occur in less than 2 percent of all drawings. Winning sets of numbers with no more than one repeated last digit represent nearly 80 percent of all drawings.

AVOID LOW NUMBER COMBINATIONS

The majority of Lotto players like to play the calendar numbers, such as birth dates and anniversaries and their children's ages. This means that the most heavily played numbers are 1 through 31. Australian LOTTO 6/42 has 42 numbers. If you play only the calendar numbers, you might be sharing your jackpot with dozens of other winners. It's not to say that you shouldn't play your personal numbers if you feel these lucky numbers are good to play. But Gail Howard recommends that you include a couple of high numbers so that just in case your numbers do hit, you win a prize that's worth something.

AUSTRALIA OZ LOTTO
Lotteries in Australia include various lottery related products licensed by Australian lottery companies. Lotteries operators are licensed at a state or territory level, and include both state government-owned and private sector companies. Most major Lotteries have now moved into the online marketplace.

As of February 2015, the major players in the lotteries industry include:

-Tatts Group Limited, which operates under the "Tatts" brand in Victoria, Tasmania, the Australian Capital Territory, and the Northern Territory. It also manages Queensland's Golden Casket Lottery Corporation (which it took over from the Queensland government in 2007), New South Wales Lotteries in NSW and the ACT and South Australian Lotteries in South Australia and
-Intralot Australia, which operates under "Intralot" in Tasmania;
-The publicly listed Jumbo Interactive, operating online as Ozlotteries.

State government-owned corporations were once a major sector in the industry. However, with Tatts taking over operation of several state-owned lotteries (though the states still retain legal ownership), the only state owned-and-operated lottery in Australia is Lotterywest in Western Australia.

Although the organisations are predominantly state-based, Australia has a number of national lottery games. Currently, Tattersall's and the state-owned lotteries operate as a bloc to jointly conduct the national games, pooling their entries and winnings. For example, Tattersall's administers the Saturday Lotto (known as Tattslotto in its jurisdictions), Oz Lotto and Powerball games on behalf of the bloc; similarly, South Australian Lotteries operate the Australian Soccer Pools on behalf of the other operators. The major operators also market lottery games traditionally running in their own jurisdiction, however recently some of these have become "multi-state" games, if not national.

Australian lotteries are subject to many regulations, which generally vary by state. The minimum age to purchase lottery products is 18.

Lotterywest, Lotterywest is owned by the Western Australian government and has been in operation since 1932. The aim of the organisation has always been to benefit the entire WA community, which it has successfully continued to do to this day. Lotterywest not only gives Western Australian residents the chance to win huge life changing amounts of money, but also uses profits raised from ticket sales to directly benefit the state.

Profits earned are distributed to various beneficiaries in the form of grants and donations, supporting sectors such as the arts, health and sporting in WA. In the last financial year alone, WA winners shared in $463 million worth of lottery prizes through Lotterywest, while $283 million of that money raised went directly back to the WA community.

NSW Lotteries, is a corporation owned by the Government of New South Wales in Australia. However, since 2010, it has been operated by Tatts Group Limited under a 40-year exclusive licence. It runs games of chance through a network of agents, most of which are newsagencies. It falls under the government portfolio of Gaming and Racing and is governed by the Public Lotteries Act 1996.

NSW Lotteries runs some of its lotteries itself and syndicates a number of others run by interstate lottery organisations. The lotteries offered are:

NSW Lotteries has been has been operating in New South Wales providing entertaining games of chance since the late 1930’s. Licensed to conduct the games of Lotto and Lotto Strike, OZ Lotto, Powerball, Instant Scratch-Its, Lucky Lotteries, and The Pools online and through a network of 1600 small businesses throughout NSW and the ACT.

Every week millions of players in New South Wales dream about what they'd do if their numbers came up or if they scratched their way to instant wealth.

Behind these brands is Tatts Lotteries, a strategic business unit of Tatts Group, a publicly listed company.

NSW Lotteries also sells various scratchcard games, under the brand 'Instant Scratch-its'.

NSW Lotteries introduced "thelott" in 2016.

NSW Lotteries will continue to bring you your favourite lottery games, whether you like to go in-store, online or to the App. From June 2016 you’ll begin to see the Lott brand name appear in-store and online.

The Lott is the mark of trust that unites Tatts Group’s Australian lottery brands including Tatts, NSW Lotteries, Golden Casket and SA Lotteries under one banner.

Originally called Tattersall’s, Tatts Group has been in the Australian lottery business for more than 134 years. Tatts Group operates the official, government-regulated lotteries in Victoria, Tasmania, the Northern Territory, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland and South Australia.
