, Saturday Lotto is a nationwide syndicated lotto, also known as TattsLotto in Victoria, Tasmania and Northern Territory, Gold Lotto in Queensland, and X Lotto in South Australia. It was based on the European style lotteries and first introduced in Victoria in 1972 before expanding to all states by 2013.
Saturday Lotto offers an estimated First Division prize of $4 million each week, plus regular $20 million "Superdraws" taking place approximately 6-7 times a year!

, Six winning numbers and two supplementary numbers are drawn from the one barrel of 45 numbers. To play one game the player chooses six numbers between 1 and 45. Players can choose to play games in lots of 12 games, 18 games, 24 games, 36 games etc. Players can choose their own numbers for each game, or allow the computer to randomly generate numbers, known as a Quick Pick entry. Winnings are calculated in 6 divisions with division 1 (six correct numbers) paying between 1 and 20 million dollars, however, some New Years Megadraws can win up to 30 million dollars, if not more.
The first TattsLotto draw was televised by Melbourne television station HSV7 on 22 June 1972, and was hosted by David Johnston and Lucy Kiraly.
It is drawn every Saturday night and draws were telecast on Channel Seven in Melbourne, Prime in Southern NSW & Victoria, and the Seven Network & Network Ten affiliated Southern Cross Television in Tasmania until the mid 2000's. Draw are now broadcast every Saturday night at approximately 7:30pm (AEST) on 7TWO and affiliated regional stations.

Saturday Lotto numbers are drawn from a machine containing 45 balls numbered from 1 to 45 inclusive. For a standard game, you choose 6 numbers from this range.
In total, 8 balls are drawn of which the first 6 are the winning numbers. The last 2 balls are the supplementary numbers. These supplementary balls are used to determine prizes in Divisions 2, 5 & 6.

Australia’s Saturday Lotto is played across the nation but even though it is played by all states, it has several different names, Gold Lotto in Queensland, Tattslotto in Victoria, Tasmania, the ACT (Australian Capital Territory) the Northern Territory while it is known as Saturday Lotto in NSW, South Australia and Western Australia.
Running for almost forty years, the first draw took place in front of a live television audience in June 1972 and has continued on every Saturday night since. . It is a traditional jackpot style draw game and is drawn every Saturday night.
Like Monday and Wednesday Lotto, the Saturday version also uses the 6/45 matrix with players selecting 6 numbers from a possible 45 with two supplementary numbers also in play after the main draw.
Up until the 29th of January 2011, there were only five prize divisions, but then a sixth division that allows for just one winning number and two supplementary was introduced allowing for more than twice the number of prizes every week.
There are also 6 special Saturday Lotto draws throughout the year called Superdraws (as their jackpots are very large) with one even larger draw at the end of the year called a Megadraw.
Prior to July 1985, they only used one supplementary number while between November 1995 and January 1997, they had double the fun with 2 draws, the second being a new selection of numbers minus the supplementary number
